4 Select the colours button, which is in the bottom left hand side, and un-tick the box that says use windows colours 
5 You can select the colour of the text and background by clicking in the coloured boxes and choosing your own colour

How To Turn Off Images

1 Open the tools menu and select internet options 
2 In the internet options box, choose the advanced tab 
3 Scroll down to the multimedia section and un-tick the box that says show pictures and select Ok 
4 Refresh the page (F5) afterwards to view the changes
